Standing Committees

Participation in the following committees is open to all members in good standing with dues paid. Training is available. Please complete our survey to schedule your interview or contact us for more information.

Building & Restoration Committee shall recommend policies for the maintenance, repair, and occupancy of the physical facilities and shall advise the Executive Director or Facilities Manager in the execution of these policies. Meets QUARTERLY on the 3rd Tuesday of March, June, September, and December at 6:30 pm in the Museum conference room. If you have time and talent in the areas of maintenance systems, preservation, restoration, carpentry, and the like, this might be a great fit for you.

Collections Care Committee shall oversee the proper maintenance and care of the Association’s collection and is responsible for accessioning items to and deaccessioning items from the collection. Meets on the first Tuesday of March, May-September, and November at 6:30 pm in the Museum conference room. If you have time and talent in the areas of archival storage, preservation, exhibit design, displays, or artifact care, we need you.

Finance Committee shall be responsible for special fundraising events, grant applications, and raising additional revenue not covered by membership dues for the operation of the Association. Meets QUARTERLY on the 3rd Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at 6:30 pm in the Museum conference room. If you have time and talent in the areas of fundraising, accounting, budgeting, finance, and strategic planning, please contact us for more details.

Publicity & Programs Committee shall plan the publicity, marketing and programs of the Association. Meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Museum conference room. If you have time and talent in the areas of marketing, public relations, communications, writing press releases, social media, event planning, or related areas, please share your expertise.

Taylor Ice Truck Committee shall staff the events the ice truck participates in and coordinate maintenance needs of the vehicle. Meets as needed. If you have an affinity for our 1947 International KB-5 and want to help with our mobile ambassador outreach, please join us!

Volunteers & Guest Services Committee shall manage the recruitment and activities of volunteers and ensure visitors receive excellent service and a superior museum experience. Meets QUARTERLY on the 3rd Tuesday of February, May, August, and November at 6:30 pm in the Museum conference room. If you have time and talent in the areas of staffing, time management, volunteer recruitment, non profit governance, or for profit operations, please join us!
